Woman burned on Scots doorstep by hooded teens who threw hot drink in her face

A woman has been left burned by hooded teenagers who launched a hot drink in her face during a doorstep attack.

The 20-year-old victim was at home before young males - aged between 14 and 15 - knocked her door on Clark Avenue in Musselburgh, East Lothian at 2.55pm on Wednesday, March 29. As she answered, a takeaway cup containing a hot drink was thrown in her direction from from one of the boys.

The duo then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The woman was left with a facial injury and is badly shaken as a result. The suspects are described as white, around 5ft 1in and of a medium build. They were wearing all black clothing with their hoods up.

Police Constable Michael Carde said: “This was an unprovoked attack and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward to assist with our enquiries. We are particularly interested in anyone who may have CCTV in the area, to check their footage between 2.30pm and 3.30pm.”
