A woman was brutally stabbed to death following a row with someone she knew at a house.
A man in his 50s is in garda custody being quizzed on suspicion of murder after the discovery of the body at a home in Raheny, north Dublin at around 1am.
The victim is understood to have been found in the kitchen of the home.

Two children, one believed to be below the age of 10 and the other a teenager, were in the house at the time.
The body remains at the scene this morning, which is preserved and garda forensics are now carrying out their examination.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardai are investigating following the discovery of a body of a woman at a house in Raheny, Dublin 5 in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 15th June 2023.
"A scene is currently held and the Garda Technical Bureau will conduct an examination.
"The body of the deceased remains at the scene.
"The office of the State Pathologist will be notified this morning.
"A man aged in his 50s has been arrested for murder and was taken to a Garda Station in North Dublin where he is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
"Investigations are ongoing."
Residents have told of their devastation of the news.
One man who lives in the area said: "I heard about it first thing this morning on social media and also radio.
"It's totally shocking, particularly in this part of the area. But look, there's so much going on lately.
"If anything happened like this around here, it would have been many years ago. That's trying to remember anything like this.
"But it's an awful shame, especially for the kids who were in the house."
Another woman said: "I just think it's a shocking thing to happen so close to my home.
"I feel really sorry for her and her family, it's really awful."
While a passerby said: "It's just absolutely horrific, imagine this happening on your doorstep. It's just so sad."
