Woman behind mystery note urging 'fit bus driver' to call her comes forward

The woman who left a note urging a 'fit bus driver' to call her has revealed herself. Donna Suter believes the man behind the wheel will know he is the note's intended target after she and pal Ryan Mendelson did their best to grab his attention at the weekend.

Mum-of-two Donna, from Whitefield in Greater Manchester, had been discussing dating while enjoying a Sunday dinner with Ryan at Two Birds and One Stone, on Radcliffe New Road. But when the 531 bus pulled up outside the café, their eyes were soon drawn to the driver.

Donna, 38, told the Manchester Evening News: "I've been on the scene for quite a while and I had downloaded Hinge, that's where the conversation started. Then we sat down outside and this bus pulled up.

"We said 'oh my god, that bus driver is fit'. Ryan tried to flag it down down to get his number for me, but unfortunately the bus went away."

Donna made her own attempts to catch the driver's attention before Ryan, 31, tried chasing the bus down the road. The pair considered waiting for the bus driver to return, but as they noticed the bus runs all the way between Bury and Farnworth, decided against it.

Instead, they decided to leave the written note, reading 'HEY FIT BUS DRIVER CALL ME'. They also left a phone number for the driver to call, which Donna says is a specific number Ryan uses for dating apps.

"I don't think he has switched the phone on since funnily enough," she said. "He's definitely not switching it on now it's gone viral."

While the bold attempt at finding love appears to be a hopeful punt, Donna believes the bus driver in question will know it's meant for him. "He must know because when he passed I was smiling at him," she added.

"I did the hand gesture for 'call me', he must know it was me." Despite recently downloading Hinge, Donna 'absolutely hates' dating apps.

Instead, she's hoping her more traditional approach could help bring her five-year single spell to a close with the bus driver of her dreams. "I think (dating apps) are all judging a book by its cover," Donna added.

"I can't stand them, I find them all catfishy. I think people think there are too many options out there.

"It's quite easy for people to say 'I don't like the way you type'. I think chivalry needs to come back again."
