A woman has been arrested and charged with arson over a grass fire at the Coober Pedy police station last week.
Just before 8pm on January 19, staff at the Coober Pedy Police Complex noticed a grass fire at the rear of the station.
Police said the fire spread under the fence of the impound yard, where it damaged several vehicles, before it was extinguished by Country Fire Service crews.
"Following investigations from that, and some really good police work here, police arrested a 45-year-old local woman and charged her with arson," Sergeant Peter Williams said.
She has been bailed to appear in the Coober Pedy Magistrates Court in April.
