Woman arrested in relation to stabbing death of man in Ballyfermot released without charge

A woman who was arrested following the fatal of stabbing of man in a Dublin apartment has been released without charge last night.

The woman arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning following the death of David Ennis, 30s, who was stabbed to death at the Claddagh Court apartment complex in Dublin - which is a gated community for senior citizens.

The woman who was in her 40s was being quizzed at Clondalkin Garda Station.

But lGardai said the woman had been released without charge on Wednesday evening.

A Garda spokeswoman said: “A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Investigations are ongoing.”

Chairman of the Claddagh Court resident’s committee Mick White said on Wednesday there have been issues with anti-social behaviour in the complex for a while.

He said: “I’ve reported it to Dublin City Council for the last three years, they haven’t done a thing about it. They were told at the last meeting this would happen.

“I was shocked when I heard about it, one of my sons rang me to tell me about it. I didn’t know what was happening.”

While Tommy Gannon, who also lives in Claddagh Court, said: “I knew there was something wrong when I woke up this morning and I saw the garda tape. It’s gotten worse in the last couple of years.”
