A woman has been arrested in connection with the horror pitbull attack on a boy in Enniscorthy.
Alejandro Miszan, 9, was playing on a green area of the Old Forge Road estate in the Wexford town on Sunday when a pitbull – which was not on a leash and unmuzzled – attacked him.
The primary school pupil was left with extensive facial injuries and remains in Crumlin Children’s Hospital after undergoing two surgeries.
The dog was later put down.

The woman, in her 30s, was arrested by gardai this morning, and she is currently being detained at Enniscorthy garda station.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardai investigating all the circumstances of an incident that occurred on Sunday, 27th November 2022, in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, where a male child received serious injuries after being attacked by a dog, have arrested a woman.
"The woman (30s) was arrested this morning Monday 5th December, 2022 and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Enniscorthy Garda station."
