Woman arrested for killing husband

The Byadarahalli police on Monday arrested a 48-year-old woman for allegedly killing her husband over a domestic row at their house in Sunkadakatte.

After attacking him, the woman took the profusely bleeding husband to a private hospital before informing his relatives that he has been injured in a fight, the police said. The brother of the deceased rushed to the hospital and found him dead.

Based on the complaint by J.M. Satish, the police registered a case of murder and took the wife Varalakshmi, 48, into custody. Detailed questioning of Varalakshmi and her two daughters revealed that she had killed her husband, following which she was arrested, the police said.

Umesh was into small time financing and also into real estate business . The couple used to have frequent fights over domestic row and on Sunday night too, they fought before going to bed. When Varalakshmi woke up in the wee hours, Umesh fought with her and even kicked her. Enraged by this, she picked up a blunt object and attacked him repeatedly injuring his head, the police said.

Umesh started bleeding profusely and she, along with her daughters, took him to the hospital. The police have recorded the statement of the two daughters and the neighbours. They have also obtained the CCTV footage from in and around the house for technical evidence for the case.
