Woman arrested as emergency service worker attacked outside city centre bar

An emergency service worker was attacked outside a bar in Liverpool city centre.

Merseyside Police received a call at 4.15pm on Thursday, November 10, reporting an attack outside Hanover Hotel and McCartney's Bar. Once officers arrived at the scene they found an emergency service worker was attacked outside the bar.

Around five police cars and a van attended the scene and a 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

An ambulance and paramedic car were also at the scene and it's unclear how seriously the worker was injured. Merseyside Police have said they are in the early stages of their investigation.

A spokesperson said: "We have arrested a 30-year-old woman on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker in Liverpool city centre. We are in the early stages of an investigation and if you have any information about this incident, contact us by DM via our social media desk on Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ with reference 22000826170."
