Gardai have arrested a woman after a major drug operation saw €210,000 worth of cannabis and heroin seized in Limerick and Tallaght.
The sting came about as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Limerick.
On Wednesday afternoon, officers attached to the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit intercepted a vehicle on Clonmacken Road.
After a search, Gardai found €45,000 worth of cannabis in the vehicle, which were then seized and the driver of the car - a woman in her 40s - was arrested.
She remains in Henry Street Garda Station - but a follow-up search was conducted at a residence in Tallaght on Wednesday evening.
During that search, €110,000 worth of cannabis and €56,000 of heroin was seized.
This seizure forms part of Operation Tara; an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris on 2nd July 2021.
The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - international, national, local - involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
