Woman airlifted to trauma centre after serious crash

A woman was airlifted to a trauma centre in Liverpool after a serious crash.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of the single car crash in Gwynedd, North Wales, at 4pm on Thursday, March 16. Two ambulances were sent to the scene as well as an air ambulance.

The woman was taken to hospital in Liverpool via air ambulance and the road was closed while accident investigation work was carried out, North Wales Live reports.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue said: "We received a call in regards to a Road Traffic Collision shortly before 4.00pm on Thursday March 16.

"We attended with two appliances, one from Nefyn and another from Pwllheli due to a person being trapped in the vehicle, we isolated the vehicle to ensure it was safe for emergency services.

"One female was taken to hospital via air ambulance."
