Woman Accusing Jay-Z And Diddy Of Sexual Assault Admits To Making 'Some Mistakes' In Her Allegations: 'Not All The Faces There Are As Clear'

A woman who accused Jay-Z and Diddy of raping her when she was 13 years old admitted to NBC News that there are inconsistencies with her story.

"I have made some mistakes" in recollections of that night, the woman told NBC News.

"Honestly, what is the clearest is what happened to me and [the] route that I took to what happened to me. Not all of the faces there are as clear," the woman said. "So I have made some mistakes. I may have made a mistake in identifying."

But the Alabama woman who is identified as Jane Doe in the lawsuit filed against Sean "Diddy" Combs and Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, said she stands by the allegations.

Describing it as a "catastrophic event," the woman, now 38, said the sexual assault happened at an after-party for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City.

But the woman and her lawyers acknowledged inconsistencies in her account in response to questions from NBC News.

She claims her father picked her up after she was allegedly sexually assaulted, but her dad doesn't remember it.

The woman also said she spoke to a celebrity at the after-party, but the star said he wasn't even in New York then.

Images from the night also show Jay-Z and Diddy at a different location than the one the woman described.

Carter reiterated his innocence.

"This incident didn't happen and yet he filed it in court and doubled down in the press," Carter told NBC News in a statement, referring to one of the woman's lawyers, Tony Buzbee.

"True Justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn't realize it yet, but, soon," the statement continued.

Buzbee said he is still looking into the woman's allegations.

"Jane Doe's case was referred to our firm by another, who vetted it prior to sending it to us," he told NBC News.

"Our client remains fiercely adamant that what she has stated is true, to the best of her memory. We will continue to vet her claims and collect corroborating data to the extent it exists. Because we have interrogated her intensely, she has even agreed to submit to a polygraph. I've never had a client suggest that before," he said in an email.

The lawyer went on to say that his client has been distressed, has had seizures and has had to seek medical treatment for the stress.

Carter's lawyer also blasted Buzbee, who has filed more than 20 lawsuits against the rap mogul.

"It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting, but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press," Alex Spiro said.

"We are asking the Court to dismiss this frivolous case today, and will take up the matter of additional discipline for Mr. Buzbee and all the lawyers that filed the complaint," Spiro said.

Diddy, who was arrested in September on federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges, is being held in a Brooklyn lockup.
