A woman accused of stowing away on a flight from New York to Paris has been arrested again after allegedly attempting to cross the border into Canada. Svetlana Dali, 57, was apprehended by Canadian authorities at the U.S.-Canada border after taking a Greyhound bus to Buffalo.
Dali, who is set to appear in court today, reportedly cut off her ankle monitor on Sunday, prompting the person she was staying with to alert authorities upon discovering the missing ankle bracelet.
During a previous bail hearing in December, Assistant U.S. Attorney Brooke Theodora expressed concerns that Dali might attempt to flee while awaiting trial.
Dali gained national attention when she managed to evade TSA checkpoints and board Delta Flight 264 to Paris without a boarding pass on November 26. Prosecutors alleged at a hearing on December 6 that she had attempted to access secure areas at multiple U.S. airports in a bid to fly without a ticket.
Following these incidents, Dali is currently in FBI custody as the legal proceedings continue.
