However, one couple's experience was far from this as a woman unknowingly walked away during the middle of her proposal as she wanted to ensure that waiter was getting good angled snaps of the pair.
A live photo of couple Monica and Andrew went viral after the jaw-dropping footage was shared to popular video-streaming service TikTok, and it has since raked in a whopping four million views. Monica apologised about the unforgettable circumstance, captioning the clip: "IM SO SORRY LMAOOOO."
The girlfriend - now fiancé - explained the situation, writing: "POV: You just wanted a fit pic and boyfriend tries to propose, but you need to check the waiter's angles."
Monica looked stunning in a chic black cut-out maxi dress, which included a stylish slit up the leg.
Meanwhile, Andrew looked dashing in a pair of black jeans, which was accompanied by a smart white and grey unbuttoned polo.
Posing for pics beside her beau, Monica explained that she "needed flash" for the photos.
None the wiser to what was unfolding, she stepped forward and reached for the phone, whilst her boyfriend slipped the ring out of his pocket.
"Is that flashy?" Andrew questioned, showing off the ring, whilst his girlfriend unknowingly walked away from the special moment.
After the video rocketed with views online, it received mass attention from TikTokers, who rushed to the comments to joke about the memorable moment.
