Woman, 76, dead and man in critical condition after crash

A WOMAN has died and a man is in critical condition following a crash in Paisley.

Emergency services responded to the scene on Corsebar Road after the alarm was raised at around 12.30pm on Tuesday.

Police say the incident involved one vehicle, a silver Kia Ceed, which left the road and collided with a wall.

A 76-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 78-year-old man, was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The road was closed for more than five hours, fully reopening at 6.25pm, to allow for an investigation to be carried out.

Sergeant Ally Wright said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman involved. “Our investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing and I would urge anyone with information, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area, to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is urged to contact 101, quoting incident number 1328 of April 15, 2025.
