A woman in her 70s has died after the car she was driving collided with a van in Co Meath this evening.
The crash between the car and the van happened on the N2 at Balrath Cross shortly after 3pm.
Emergency services rushed to the scene but the woman, the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at Navan Hospital where a post-mortem will take place.
No one else was injured.

A garda spokesperson said: "The road where the collision occurred remains closed with local diversions in place. A technical examination of the scene by Forensic Collision Investigators is underway.
"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
