A 47-year-old woman has been arrested after repeatedly making emergency calls to police.
The woman, from Great Sutton, near Ellesmere Port, was arrested on suspicion of wasting police time after making repeated calls to Cheshire Constabulary. A total of nine 999 calls were made to Cheshire Constabulary's Force Control Room, based at the Winsford headquarters, with seven occurring between 5.09am to 5.55am on Tuesday, September 6.
Officers were deployed and attended an address in the Clover Place area of Chester. David McMahon, service delivery manager of the force control centre, said: "Misuse of the emergency number is not acceptable.

"The time that our call handles spend dealing with inappropriate 999 calls can be the difference between life and death for those members of the public who may be trying to contact us with genuine emergencies to receive the urgent help they need."
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said if you are a victim of crime you should contact Cheshire Police on 999 if there is an immediate threat to life or property and 101 for non-emergencies.
