A YOUNG woman has been airlifted to hospital and is in a “critical condition” after being hit by a car on the A9.
Police said that they had been called out to an incident on the A9, Airthrey Road, in Stirling at around 10am on Thursday, February 6.
A pedestrian, a 23-year-old woman, had been hit by a Kia Niro and was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Officers said she is in a critical condition.
The driver of the Kia was not injured.
The road was closed to allow for crash investigations to be carried out and reopened around 2.10pm.
Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances, police said.
Road Policing Sergeant Scott Kirkpatrick said: “I’m appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time and saw what happened to get in contact with police.
“I’d also ask drivers with dashcams to please review your footage to see if you’ve captured anything which may assist our investigation.”
