Woman, 21, found dead by friend in hotel after they enjoyed night out together

A 21-year-old woman has been found dead in a hotel after a night out, an inquest has heard.

Her friend discovered her hanging when she returned to their room the morning after.

Jazmine Mary Smith, from Birkenhead, Merseyside, had been out in Bangor with a friend before she returned to the Menai View Hotel.

An inquest heard that Jazmine returned to the hotel after midnight without her friend, who did not return until later on in the morning.

When she got back to the hotel room, she found Ms Smith had tragically hung herself.

Paramedics attended the scene but she was sadly pronounced dead at 10:49am on April 28, North Wales Live reported.

The inquest, held at Dafydd Orwig Chamber in Caernarfon, heard that Ms Smith, who worked behind a bar, was formally identified by her friend.

A post mortem was conducted by Dr Mark Atkinson who provided a cause of death of hanging.

Kate Sutherland, acting senior coroner for North West Wales, adjourned the inquest to a later date pending further investigation.
