Wolves Vs Arsenal Preview, Prediction, Team News, Lineups

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, we have the Wolves vs Arsenal team news and confirmed lineups, as well as a preview and prediction for the match.

Wolves Vs Arsenal Preview

After their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday night, Wolves have the unenviable task of trying to navigate a priceless three points from another of the Premier League‘s big boys.

The Old Gold have struggled so far this season and find themselves battling relegation. As it stands, they are just outside of the drop zone in 17th place owing to their slightly superior goal difference over Ipswich.

In the build up to the game, the spotlight will firmly be shining on Matheus Cunha. The Brazil international has been hugely impressive at Molineux this season and will want to reinforce his credentials against a potential suitor.

From Vitor Pereira’s perspective, his new manager bounce has been well and truly extinguished. The loss at Stamford Bridge was the third in succession in the top-flight.

Prior to that, the Portuguese gaffer took an impressive seven points from his opening three games. One of which included the Boxing Day victory over Manchester United.

Arsenal banished the memories of the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa by beating Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard all netted in the comfortable 3-0 win in north London. That victory leaves them in 3rd spot with qualification to the round of 16 already confirmed.

The Gunners turn their attention back to their faltering title push. Fixtures against Wolves typically bode well for the Reds. They have won their last seven league encounters by an aggregate score of 16-2.

Going into the Molineux showdown, Mikel Arteta’s side are 2nd in the table. The Spaniard is trailing leaders Liverpool by six points and the Merseysiders still have a game in hand.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, the best football betting sites in the UK price Arsenal as the 1/2 favourites. Wolves can be backed at 6/1 with the draw available at 15/4.

Wolves Vs Arsenal Team News

Sasa Kalajdzic, Boubacar Traore, Enso Gonzalez and Yerson Mosquera are all ruled out for Wolves. However, Toti Gomes is rated 50/50.

Former captain Mario Lemina isn’t expected to feature as he is still trying to navigate an exit from Molineux. The Gabonese midfielder lost the armband after an altercation with West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen in December.

The in-demand Matheus Cunha will play against one of his many admirers. He’ll want to show Saturday’s opponents exactly what he is all about with a glowing performance.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will once again be without Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White. Although the latter is reportedly back in training. Ethan Nwaneri could feature after his recent muscle injury.

The same applies to defender Riccardo Calafiori. He made the matchday squad and featured against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night.

William Saliba is perhaps the biggest absence for the Gunners. It’s expected the French star will be able to return in a few weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.

Wolves Vs Arsenal Confirmed Lineups

Wolves: Sa; Doherty, Agbadou, Bueno; Semedo, Andre, J. Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Sarabia, Cunha; Larsen

Arsenal: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Nwaneri, Partey, Rice; Martinelli, Havertz, Trossard

Wolves Vs Arsenal Prediction

The Wolves vs Arsenal stats suggest an away win is very much on the cards and it’s hard to argue against that happening.

Even though the Gunners do have a leaky defence on the road, it shouldn’t matter in the slightest as the north Londoner’s attacks typically thrive against the Old Gold.

Prediction: Wolves 1-4 Arsenal
