Wolves take yet another swipe at Arsenal after what they did against Tottenham

Wolverhampton Wanderers have taken another shot at Arsenal with a cheeky social media dig amid their victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

Bruno Lage’s men continued their excellent recent form with a 2-0 victory in north London on Sunday, Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker securing the three points on an error-strewn afternoon for the hosts.

The win sees them move above Spurs and into seventh in the Premier League table, whilst also potentially providing Arsenal a huge boost to their own hopes of finishing in the Champions League places come the end of the campaign.

Following victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Wolves’ social media team could not resist taking fire at Arsenal following their protests at the Gunners’ celebrations at Molineux last week.

Taking to Twitter, the club’s official account posted a video of their players going over and applauding the away fans with the caption: “Celebrating the right way”.

The latest shot comes after the likes of Ruben Neves and Conor Coady took exception to the way that Arsenal celebrated their 1-0 win in the Midlands last week.

Following the game, the Portuguese said: "We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are. I didn't see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years - it was like they won the league."

Meanwhile, Wolves captain Coady also poured in on the debate and was not a fan of the way in which Arsenal went about their post-match toasts.

Speaking with BBC Radio 5 Live, he said: “We’ve seen them [the celebrations], we heard them. We’ve obviously seen the whole thing, I know Ruben has obviously spoken out after it.

“They celebrated quite hard, didn’t they? It probably obviously shows how big the game was to them, and to us – it was big to us as well.

“Listen, we spoke about it all week, we prepared right, we made sure we were ready and I actually thought we played quite well if I’m being honest.

“We had the ball, we created different things, but listen Arsenal are a top side.

“So we’ve seen the celebrations, I’ll be honest with you, from our point of view, we really didn’t like them.”
