Wolves star Matheus Cunha has been given a two-game ban and handed an £80,000 fine after a misconduct charge.
The Brazilian has played a starring role for Wolves this season, despite the club’s battle to stay above the relegation zone.
However, his temper got the better of him during a full-time incident after their 2-1 defeat to Ipswich on December 14.
During the post-match melee, television footage showed the 25-year-old appearing to elbow a member of Ipswich’s staff in the back of the head before shoving his hand in their face.
Cunha has been allowed to play since then amid an investigation by the FA. However, the FA have now announced their verdict.

Wolves Star Cunha Banned For Two Games
Matheus Cunha, who did not contest the misconduct charge, has been fined £80,000 in addition to the two-game ban imposed by an independent FA commission.
He will sit out Wolves’ visit to high-flying Nottingham Forest on Monday and a third-round FA Cup trip to Bristol City a week on Saturday
The Guardian have reported that there is believed to be a ‘sense of relief’ at Wolves that the sanctions were not more severe.
While Wolves waited for news, Cunha made a big impact in the games since the melee against Ipswich.
He scored in victories against Leicester and Manchester United. However, he was forced off at half-time during Wolves’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham because of an injury.
Wolves are just one point above the drop zone. They will be glad that Cunha won’t miss too much action in the Premier League because of his ban.

The ban for Matheus Cunha comes at a time where his exceptional form has alerted the interest of top clubs.
As reported by the Telegraph, Arsenal hold an interest in signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
However, they would face a huge battle in attempting to convince Wolves to sell him during the January transfer window.
Arsenal are reportedly the favourites to land Cunha in the future. However, they are not the only Premier League club in the race.
The likes of Manchester United, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Tottenham are also keeping tabs.
