Wolves missing key trio for Leeds United clash as Bruno Lage delivers injury update

Jesse Marsch was able to bring positive news to his pre-match press conference as the Leeds United manager revealed that Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper were under consideration to make the squad for Friday night's game against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The two players have been out since mid-December, when both picked up hamstring injuries against Brentford and their returns to action would provide a huge boost to the Whites in a crucial period.

Last Sunday's win against Norwich City, coupled with losses for Everton and Burnley provided a little breathing room for the Whites. However, taking something from the game at Molineux on Friday could still be vital as it could suggest Leeds could be beginning a run of form at just the right time as they will want to secure the points needed for Premier League safety as soon as possible.

While Leeds have positive news in terms of key players returning to the side, Bruno Lage gave news about three missing players in his pre-match press conference. Two of the players missing would be considered first-choice in the Portuguese' ideal starting XI.

Here are the players Wolves will have to go without for Leeds' visit:

Pedro Neto - foot injury

Wolves star winger has struggled with injuries this season and only recently returned to the first-team. However, he picked up a foot injury during Wolves 4-0 win over Watford and has been ruled out for the match against the Whites.

Nelson Semedo - hamstring

Semedo has missed the last four matches with a hamstring injury. Lage stated that he hoped to have him available again following the international break which commences following the weekend's fixtures.

Ki-Jana Hoever

The former Liverpool youth product also picked up a hamstring injury after he took on the role of right back, deputising for the injured Semedo. Jonny Otto is likely to play as the only available right back.
