Wolves are lining up a move for a Ruben Neves replacement in the event that the reported Arsenal target leaves the club this summer, according to recent reports.
The Gunners are in need of midfield reinforcements, evidenced by how light they looked in the middle of the park during Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Brighton. football.london understands that technical director Edu will be on the hunt for a central midfielder at the end of the current campaign and Sky Sports reported on Monday that Neves is one of Mikel Arteta's top targets ahead of this summer.
The Portuguese international is said to be valued in the region of £50-60million and SunSport has now claimed that Wolves are preparing for life without the former Porto playmaker, and are interested in Benfica B youngster Martim Neto to potentially replace him. The fact that Bruno Lage's side are looking at potential replacements for Neves surely bodes well for Arsenal and other interested clubs.

Lage has never hidden his admiration for the 24-year-old and even recently claimed that he could be worth up to £100million this summer. Speaking to our sister title Birmingham Live last week, he said: “I don’t know if it’s Man Utd or other teams, what I know is we have a special player here with us.
“What he is doing this season is very good. I think also the way we play, he can show a better Ruben, and also the way he plays puts our team on a different level.
“When you have that player, the best thing to do is improve his salary and years of contract. But who knows, when you have a top player like him in that specific position, that can defend and attack, and is a top professional and a great man, the big teams are there with £100 million to buy these kinds of players.
“It depends on the strategy of Wolves also. That’s why it was so hard to find players in the last two transfer windows because we want to find the best players at the right price and the right age to help us, then after two or three years they can give us economical profit. It’s not just about Wolves, in these days which club can refuse a proposal of 80, 90 or 100 million pounds? Five or six.”
