Jack Grealish accepted an apology from Wolves' Nathan Collins after the defender caught him with a horror challenge during Manchester City's 3-0 win at Molineux.
Collins caught Grealish high and late in the 33rd minute of the match with City already leading 2-0, thanks to early goals from Grealish and Erling Haaland. The young defender was shown a straight red card by referee Anthony Taylor and will now serve a three match suspension for serious foul play.
Grealish was in clear distress when the incident occurred but was fortunate to avoid serious injury. He played on until he was replaced by Cole Palmer in the second half, before featuring for England last week in a defeat to Italy.

Now, more than a week on from the incident, Collins has revealed that he apologised to Grealish after the game, and that the £100m star accepted his gesture.
"It was a mistimed tackle," the Wolves and Ireland defender told The Irish Times.
"I was outside the dressing room talking to someone and I saw him [Grealish]. I spoke to him and said: 'Listen, in the tackle, I didn't mean to go for you, I went for the ball and meant nothing by it.'
"He said 'Yes, it’s not a problem, I didn’t think you did'. It was sound, we just chatted and we were both on good terms."
Grealish sat out England's 3-3 draw with Germany at Wembley on Monday night through suspension, meaning he should be well rested and ready to go when City take on Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. The meeting with Erik ten Hag's side will be Grealish's second taste of the Manchester derby after he played the full 90 minutes of City's 4-1 victory back in March.
