Wolves brutally troll Nottingham Forest after win as 'playtime' jibe backfires

Wolverhampton Wanderers took the opportunity to poke fun at Nottingham Forest following their 1-0 win at Molineux and get their own back following the Reds' attempts to do similar before the match.

Forest began the back-and-forth by posting a provocative pre-match graphic on social media - which was later deleted - featuring forward Emmanuel Dennis sitting on the Molineux pitch playing with three wolf cubs, accompanied by the caption 'Playtime'. After scoring against Aston Villa on Monday night, the striker couldn't repeat the trick on Saturday afternoon and was booked a quarter of an hour into the match before being substituted 20 minutes from time as the Reds pushed for an equaliser.

Dennis wasn't on the pitch when Ryan Yates did win a penalty taken by Brennan Johnson but saved by their goalkeeper Jose Sa meaning Ruben Neves' converted spot-kick remained the winner. Wolves pounced on this opportunity to have the last laugh.

Their follow-up graphic, captioned 'Playtime's over', showed a tree stump with an axe sporting the Wolves badge stuck into it rooted on the Molineux pitch. It also featured the 1-0 scoreline as well as a message on the advertising boards which reads 'SAFE TRIP BACK NOTTS FOREST'.
