Bellegarde’s incisive pass through the lines set Munetsi up to level the scoring, and the Zimbabwean obliged with a tidy finish. There was little else to separate the two sides across the second half. Strand Larsen came close to squeezing his shot over the line in the 71st minute but Pickford was quick to make the save, while Everton countered immediately after and saw a good shot from Beto denied by Sa’s outstretched hand. Everton created the better chances on the night, evidenced by their xG of 1.32 compared to Wolves’ xG of just 0.60. But both managers should be happy with their sides’ efforts. Wolves remain in 17th place, six points above the drop zone while Everton move up to 14th, level with Manchester United, Tottenham, and West Ham.
