The other shoe has, as predicted, dropped in the Boston Celtics trade for Philadelphia 76ers wing Jaden Springer. The Celtics, who had dealt for Springer in the waning moments of the NBA’s 2024 trade deadline, have elected to trade deep bench wing Dalano Banton to the Portland Trail Blazers, according to senior ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski.
The move will help keep open the roster spot needed for the Celtics to bring on the contract of Springer, with Boston having previously filled their 15th and final open regular roster spot in the trade for reserve Memphis Grizzlies big man Xavier Tillman, Sr. before dealing away Lamar Stevens.
The Celtics now nearly have a full complement of players to head into the NBA’s 2024 postseason with 14 players as they pursue a league-record 18th title.

Whether any further trade deadline moves are forth coming will likely be revealed in the next hour from publication as any remaining deals in the league office queue are finalized, but this could be it for Boston.
Boston could also get into the buyout market to fill their remaining roster spot.
