The Boston Celtics are reportedly signing old friend Luke Kornet and current Celtics two way forward Sam Hauser to rest-of-season deals according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, with the latter having been playing with the (Portland) Maine Celtics for much of the 2021-22 G League season and the latter getting his two way deal converted to a regular one as had been speculated on Thursday.
With Boston’s busy 2022 NBA trade deadline sending out much of the team’s bench players for consolidatory upgrades, the Celtics found themselves with five open roster spots in need of filling, with Hauser the obvious choice to be one of them given his excellent play in Maine, particularly from deep.
Kornet of course has familiarity with the team due to his prior stint with the Celtics last season if not the system being used under new head coach Ime Udoka.
