The WNBA has yet to name all eight teams to represent the league in the playoffs, and if you’re here, you’re probably wondering one thing: WHY?!
The answer is simple. The eight team hasn’t been decided yet, and the scenarios for clinching the final playoff spot are actually wild.
The eighth and final spot is between three teams — Atlanta Dream, Chicago Sky, and Washington Mystics — after the Dallas Wings and the Los Angeles Sparks were eliminated. Atlanta’s win over Chicago on Tuesday and the Mystics’ loss to the New York Liberty the same night bumped the Dream into the eighth spot, leaving Chicago and Washington on the outside looking in.
BUT *technically* Chicago and Washington are not out of it yet. Per Alexa Philippou and Ari Chambers of ESPN, here are all the wild scenarios for each team to make the postseason.
