The sequel series will see Selena Gomez and David Henrie reprising their iconic roles as Alex and Justin Russo, with both also serving as executive producers. Production for the new series is set to begin next month in Los Angeles.
Joining Gomez and Henrie in the cast are Max Matenko, Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, and Mimi Gianopulos. The storyline will focus on Justin as he navigates living a mortal life with his family, while also mentoring a young wizard-in-training, Billie, played by Brown.
The pilot episode was written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, with Andy Fickman directing and executive producing. The series is expected to feature multiple episodes directed by Fickman.
