Detectives investigating the deaths of a Deliveroo driver and a rapper after a south London shooting have issued an appeal to find those responsible two years on.
Takeaway delivery driver Guilherme Messias Da Silva, 23, and rapper Lemar Urquhart, 27, both died on Railton Road, on October 30, 2022 after reports of gunfire.
Armed police were called to the major south London road, which runs between Brixton and Herne Hill, shortly before 8pm to reports of gunshots and found the two men injured at the scene.
Both were pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives believe two cars were driving in the area when one knocked Mr Da Silva off his moped and then hit some parked vehicles.
Mr Da Silva, who had come to London from Brazil two years earlier, was doing his last job of the night when he was struck.
Mr Urquhart got out of one of the cars involved in the collision and was pursued by a man, armed with a firearm.
The man shot Mr Urquhart before fleeing the scene by car, said police.
Witnesses said the two cars had been involved in a chase and had been speeding at more than three times the 20mph limit when Mr Da Silva was struck.
In a statement issued two years on, the family of Mr Urquhart - who rapped under the name Perm - said time had not healed the pain of losing their “beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew and cousin.”
“Whoever said time is a healer, lied,” they said.
“The pain is unbearable and life will never be the same. Lemar was an integral part of the family and his death has rocked our family to the core.
“Every day we hope that new information is given to aid the arrest of the person/s who did this.”
The Urquhart family urged anyone with information to come forward, saying it could be “vital” to catching their son’s killer.
The call was backed by Met Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend, who is leading the investigation.
“It has been two years since this shocking incident and our thoughts continue to remain with the family and friends of Guilherme and Lemar,” she said.
“My team is working tirelessly to identify those responsible for their deaths and to get justice for the families.
“I am extremely grateful to those individuals who have already come forward to share information, but would urge anyone else who has information and has not yet spoken to us to come forward. No piece of information is too small.”
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting CAD 6166/30Oct.
