Wishaw site manager wins fifth industry accolade

A Wishaw man has reigned supreme with his fifth industry site management accolade.

Stuart Gillespie, a site manager with housebuilder Mactaggart & Mickel, has won his fifth national award at the National House Building Council (NHBC) awards.

The honour, given in connection with his work at Mactaggart & Mickel’s Greenan Views development in Doonfoot, Ayrshire, brings his award tally to a grand total of five UK Supreme wins, four UK Supreme runner-up awards and 12 NHBC Scottish regional awards.

Stuart began his career at Mactaggart & Mickel as an apprentice joiner, working his way up to become a senior site manager for the company.

He said: “This award is testament to an incredible effort from an excellent team with whom I’ve had the privilege of working for many years.

“Mactaggart & Mickel are renowned for their exceptional standards and we are proud to ensure the homes and the communities we play a part in creating reflect those standards.”

Now in its 41st year — the awards celebrate the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality.

As well as undergoing spot checks on the day-to day running of the sites, each site manager is assessed across their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and quality controls.

Peter Shepherd, Director and Homes Board Chair at Mactaggart & Mickel, added: “This is an incredible feat from Stuart who has shown outstanding consistency in winning these awards over the years.

“This level of achievement is testament to his attention to detail and continuous drive for quality, as well as his work ethic and leadership.

“He demonstrates an exceptional level of professional commitment and is highly deserving of this accolade.”
