Wishaw boss David Dunn says snatching defeat from the jaws of victory at Ardeer Thistle on Saturday has left him with the worst feeling of his entire career.
The Beltane Park side were leading 2-1 going into the final three minutes of the West of Scotland Second Division clash thanks to strikes from Kevin Barry Grant and Kieran Brannan.
But quick-fire strikes from Tam Miller and Marc Wardrope added to Logan Angus’ opener to leave Dunn pig sick
The former Clyde, Airdrie and Ayr midfielder, whose side have just a point from their first three games, said: I’ll be honest, it’s probably the worst I’ve felt in all my career as a player and a coach.
“It was a really hard one to take on Saturday. I was starting to think we were getting things going and if we get through the final few minutes, we’d have come away with a good result.
“We had a few chances to win it ourselves and then it’s bang, bang and the game is gone.
“It comes out of the blue with us. We looked so comfortable and we’ve lost a game we should never have lost.
“It’s difficult because we played very well in spells. We are six minutes away from having an okay start to the season.
“We are nearly there, but not quite.
“When we looked back over the game, there isn’t too much wrong generally.
“It’s just individual errors are costing us.
“We should have more than enough to see the game out.”
Wishaw now welcome Forth Wanderers on Saturday, aiming to get that first league win on the board.
And Dunn reckons it’s a hugely important game in their season already.
He added: “This is a massive game for us on Saturday.
“There’s not a lot between teams and small margins win you games. Forth did very well at times last season so it will be another tough game.
“We need to switch on in all areas across the pitch, and be hard to beat.”
