Wishaw MSP quizzed on politics by Coltness High School pupils

MSP Clare Adamson today paid a visit to S4 pupils at Coltness High School in Wishaw.

Ms Adamson, who represents the Motherwell and Wishaw constituency, was answering questions on the work of a constituency MSP and encouraging pupils to get engaged with politics.

She told Lanarkshire Live : “I often say the hardest questions we get as MSPs come from school pupils.

"It is wonderful to see young people engaged with local, national, and international politics.

“We had a fantastic discussion filled with astute questions. There was a focus on the roles that young people can play in politics.

“That concept is becoming increasingly relevant as we try to tackle the generational issues facing our planet such as the climate crisis.

“Getting passionate about the political process from an early age makes a big impact on how our society will deal with these challenges.

“Thank you kindly to Miss McIlroy and the social subjects department for hosting me and thank you to the pupils at Coltness High for their insight and enthusiasm.”
