Wishaw hairdresser thanked by friend for years of friendship

A Wishaw hairdresser got a surprise of her own this week.

Gayle Murray, who runs her own salon in Stewarton Street, was stunned when our photographer popped into inform she was the winner of our Say it with Flowers competition.

Gayle was nominated for the flowers by her friend Gillian Watt who wanted to thank her for her many years of friendship.

Gillian said: “Not only is she my best friend, she’s one in a million and would do anything to help when she can whilst running her hairdressing business in Wishaw.

“Everyone needs a Gayle in their life.”

Gayle and Gillian have been friends for the past two decades having been introduced through mutual friends.

To thank Gayle for everything she has done for Gillian and her friends, we were able to offer her a beautiful bouquet of flowers, arranged thanks to our friends at Pixie’s Petals in Newmains.

Gillian added: “Gayle always goes the extra mile to ensure everyone she knows is happy.

“She is the type of person who drops everything to come and help you. Gayle’s the type of friend that you can call every time for anything.

“I just wanted to say a quick thank you because she has helped me so much down the years.

“I am sure she will feel a bit embarrassed but she really deserves it for everything she does.”
