Wishaw band Saint PHNX on TRNSMT, new music and playing the iconic Barrowlands

Brothers Stevie and Al Jukes gave the TRNSMT crowd a show to remember on Friday.

The Wishaw boys make up Saint PHNX and played the festival's King Tuts stage.

Powering through their hit songs such as Happy Place and Shake, the band dedicated the set to their late dad, Bertie, who passed away last year.

Speaking to Lanarkshire Live, Stevie Jukes said: “It is great to be back at TRNSMT and the weather has been really kind too.

“We just love to bring a party atmosphere and make sure people are out there having the best time.

“It is an honour to play on the King Tut's stage and to go from playing the River stage last year to being upgraded again is amazing.

“We want to keep pushing and getting our name out there even more. We have just announced we are playing the Barrowland Ballroom in April too, which is a bucket list venue for us.

“We have played there lots as a band but to say we are headlining it is just phenomenal. It’s been the dream for a while.”

The band hopes to release more music in the coming months and are also working on a brand new album.

Alan Jukes said: “We hope to have the record ready soon and a lot of new songs for our fans to sing to us at our shows.

“Fans can expect them to be just as big and loud as the songs we played at the festival today.

“It’s so fun to be on the stage and see fans singing to you. It’s a true honour.”

Tickets for the band's Barrowlands headline gig are on sale from this Friday, July 15.
