Authorities in Wisconsin are currently on the lookout for a convicted felon following a devastating incident that resulted in the deaths of two children and an adult. The New Lisbon Police Department initiated the search after a child was reported missing on Sunday night, last seen in the company of Virgil G. Thew, 47 years old.
Subsequent to this report, another child was discovered missing on Monday morning. Tragically, a few hours later, law enforcement officials found two children and an adult deceased inside a residence on West Bridge Street. It remains uncertain whether the deceased children are the same ones reported missing initially.
The Wisconsin State Crime Lab, along with the Juneau County Sheriff's Office and Monroe County Sheriff's Department, have been actively involved in processing the scene at the home where the tragic discovery was made. Thew has been identified as a person of interest in the case and is currently being sought by Wisconsin Probation and Parole. Authorities have issued a warning that Thew should be considered armed and dangerous.
Records indicate that Thew has a history of criminal offenses, having been convicted of multiple felonies such as possessing a firearm as a felon, burglary, and theft. His criminal record shows a pattern of repeated incarcerations dating back to 1995, with a parole release in 2012.
Law enforcement officials have cautioned the public not to confront or approach Thew if spotted. Descriptions provided indicate that he is 5-foot-10, weighs 150 pounds, and was last seen wearing a dark-colored down coat, blue jeans, and a hat. The Juneau County Sheriff's Office has refrained from making further statements on the case at this time.
