Positive Covid tests have dropped by a third in Wirral.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, the peninsula recorded 825 cases in the week ending April 18. That's 421 fewer cases than in the previous seven days.
In Wirral, the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 34%.

The other five local government areas of the Liverpool City Region recorded falls in positive Covid tests. The falls were: 25% in Knowsley; 29% in Liverpool; 28% in Halton; 36% in St Helens; 33% in Sefton; and, 34% in Wirral.
There were also falls in areas close to the Merseyside border, which includes Warrington, West Lancs, and Cheshire West and Cheshire.
In England overall, there were 143,786 cases in the week ending April 18, which was 71,261 fewer cases than the previous week.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,005 cases in the week ending April 18, which is 416 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 29%. The latest infection rate was 200.8 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 825 cases in the week ending April 18, which is 421 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 34%. The latest infection rate was 254.4 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 328 positive tests over the last week - that's 126 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 28% in Halton in the week ending April 18. The latest infection rate is 252.8 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 430 cases in the week ending April 18, which is 245 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 237.4 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 36%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 360 cases in the week ending April 18, which is 117 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 236.1 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 25%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 753 cases in the week ending April 18, which is a 366 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 272.9 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases fell by 33% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 3,701 positive tests over in the week ending April 18, which is 1,691 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change fell by 31%. The latest infection rate is 217.36 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 571 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 18, which is 317 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure fell by 36%. There was an infection rate of 272.69 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 1,064 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 18, which is 421 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 309.46 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage fell by 28% in cases.
West Lancs
There were 307 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 18, which is 67 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 268.13 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage fell by 18% in cases.
England
In the week ending April 18, England recorded 143,786 coronavirus cases, which is 71,261 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage fell by 33% in England. There was an infection rate of 254.26 per 100,000 people.
