Winter Wonderland food and drink prices - what you can expect to pay

For families looking for a bit of festive fun in the run-up to Christmas, you could do a lot worse than visiting Winter Wonderland at Newcastle Racecourse.

Kids can meet Santa at his Grotto and get photos with the Grinch, as well as going on a whole host of rides - with spinning teacups and cars for the youngest, to a bungee for the most daring teens. Rides start at £2 and the bungee costs £12.50, while it's £5 per person for entry.

But should you eat beforehand? Not necessarily (and certainly not if you're planning on going on some of the bigger rides).

If you do get hungry there, you maybe be pleased to know that Winter Wonderland is packed with places to eat and drink. Here's an idea of what you can look forward to trying and what you can expect to pay.

Bubble Waffles - £5 each with one topping, £1 for extra toppings

Greek street food - loaded fries from £8, gyro from £10

Coffee Lounge - £3.50 for coffees, £2 for tea

German sausages - Bratwurst £7, currywurst £7

Yorkshire pudding wraps - start at £8, roast dinner roll starts at £6

Wood fired pizza - £9
