Winter Olympics: Final medal table – Norway come out on top after record-breaking performance at Beijing 2022

Norway topped the medal table at the Winter Olympics with a record-breaking performance in Beijing to cement their dominance in winter sports.

Their gold medal haul of 16 represents the most ever won at a single Winter Games. In total, Norway won 16 gold, eight silver and 13 bronze medals.

Germany finished second in the medal table with 12 gold, 10 silver and five bronze medals.

Host China delivering its best ever result at a Winter Olympics to finish third with nine gold, four silver and two bronze medals, and finished above the United States.

The Russian Olympic Committee won a total of 32 medals, though there is still a question mark over the medals in the figure skating team event which could impact its haul of six golds.

Great Britain ended the Beijing Winter Olympics with two medals - a gold and a silver in women’s and men’s curling.

That medal haul was short of the five won at the previous two Games.
