Windows at Nottingham bus stop 'smashed' as shattered glass covers pavement

Glass windows at a bus stop in Nottingham were "smashed" resulting in broken glass all over the pavement. Photos of the aftermath show the shattered glass at the bus stop on Southchurch Drive, in Clifton, on Sunday morning, March 12.

A sign displaying a bus route map was also found on the pavement alongside the debris. Councillors in Clifton said the incident happened sometime between 9am and 11am.

Kevin Clarke, the Clifton East Ward Councillor, said the debris has now been cleaned. A photo from the scene shows three bags containing the broken glass, next to the large sign.

He said that the incident has been reported to the Nottingham City Transport. He told Nottinghamshire Live: "It was smashed this morning.

"But we have gone there and cleaned it all up. The council came along and toog the bags and the sign.

"These things all the time at the end of the day. You have got people hanging around kicking things.

"It is a regular occurrence around the city. It has been reported to the Nottingham City Transport."

In a tweet, Councillor for Clifton East Ward Maria Watson, said: "Within minutes we went out and cleared the smashed glass after informing Nottingham City Transport of the incident.

"Not sure how this happened as at 9am it was intact, by 11am it was smashed. We will always be there to keep our community safe."
