A window of the constituency office for a Nottinghamshire MP has been smashed. Conservative Brendan Clarke-Smith, who represents Bassetlaw, posted a photo of the damage on social media on Sunday evening (May 21).
The Conservative MP, whose office is situated in Bridge Place, Worksop, vowed to "get to the bottom of it". He tweeted: "A nice smashed window at the constituency office in Worksop.
"Thanks to all those who reported it. The CCTV is top notch, so I am sure we will get to the bottom of it." Responding to the tweet, Labour councillor for Worksop north east Alan Rhodes described it as "mindless vandalism".
"Whatever your political viewpoint and I am very much opposed to Brendan Clarke-Smith, his Tory government and their political agenda, this is utterly unacceptable," he said. "As Chair of Bassetlaw Constituency Labour Party I say the ballot box is how we express our desire for political change, not mindless vandalism."
