A property in Belmont with an Insta-worthy makeover has fetched $1.6 million after receiving multiple offers.
The renovated 620-square metre four-bedroom, three-bathroom property at 18 Hill Street was sold with Shanti Page and Ben Casey at SOLD Real Estate.
Ms Page said the listing drew a high volume of interest from buyers over four weeks, with 100 groups through the open house inspections.
The renovation project was documented on the Instagram account @the_coastal_abode run by the sellers, Adam and Kristen Tiananga.
"We had quite a few people who connected to the Instagram account so we did get people through the home wanting to see it in the flesh and get a few ideas," Ms Page said.
"There were obviously genuine contenders too, but it was quite interesting how spread the thinking was on the price point.
"The people who ended up buying it had resisted the numbers but when it reached the pointy end of the deal, they went much higher than they thought they would."
Initial interest started at $1.38 million, however, higher offers from buyers out of Sydney and Lake Macquarie took it up to an eventual sale price of $1.6 million.
The buyers are two sisters who plan to live in the home together.
The result was almost double the median $891,000 sale price for a house in Belmont.
Adam and Kristen purchased the property from the home's original owners, who had lived there for 40 years, for $565,500 in 2018.
Both passionate renovators, the couple gradually transformed it into a modern, coastal-inspired family home.
Kristen studied interior design, and the two have been renovating homes for almost 15 years.
New additions to the home included a designer kitchen with a Calcutta Nuevo Caesarstone island bench, two ovens, integrated appliances, a butler's pantry and a wine fridge.
The couple also installed a pool to create a resort-style area with a cabana and deck.
Features of the home included aged brass tapware, engineered timber flooring and a gas fireplace.
The couple enlisted Mark Tisdell, of MUD Landscape Design, to design the backyard.
One of the final finishing touches in the renovation project was the installation of an outdoor pizza oven.
"The pizza oven is fantastic because it creates that sense of togetherness and we put it in the front garden because we get to watch the beautiful sunsets over the lake," Kristen told the Newcastle Herald in July.
"The original owner had a passion for gardening, so we re-established all of the gardens and it became a special spot for us.
"We call it our winter garden because we have fire pits on weekends and the kids can play on the swing."
