A weather station located in Egmont Channel, situated at the mouth of Tampa Bay, recently reported a wind gust reaching an impressive 100 mph, as confirmed by the National Hurricane Center. This significant wind speed is indicative of the powerful forces at play in the region.

Furthermore, other areas in close proximity to Tampa Bay have also experienced intense wind gusts. The greater Tampa area recorded gusts of up to 89 mph, while Sarasota reported gusts reaching 93 mph. Additionally, a gust of 97 mph was documented in the city of Venice.
