The theatre has been central to Christmas celebrations in Liverpool for many decades, and this festive season is set to be the most exciting offer for several years since the pandemic disrupted plans.

Director Stephen Fletcher returns to the Royal Court with Scouse Jack and the Beanstalk, penned by the theatre's executive director Kevin Fearon.

Promising music, madness and a great night out, the well-known story has been given a Scouse twist as Jack’s mum is fuuumin’. That little divvy has taken their only cow to St John’s and instead of selling him for cash, he brought back a handful of beans. It runs until January 21.

It's a White Christmas over at the Empire, which is welcoming a brand-new spectacular production of Irving Berlin’s classic musical from December 6 until December 31.

The tale of love and friendship is hot from the West End and is directed by Ian Talbot OBE.

At the M&S Bank Arena, panto returns with the story of Aladdin from December 16-29.

And the Playhouse see the return of one of the West End's hottest shows - the international smash hit musical SIX. From Tudor Queens to Pop Princesses, the six wives of Henry VIII take to the mic to tell their tales, remixing 500 years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st-century girl power. See it from December 6 to January 8.
