Motherwell manager Michael Wimmer is happy to have many decisions to make on his summer overhaul after continuing to build for next season.
Wimmer this week handed Tom Sparrow a contract extension that will tie him down until at least 2027 with the option for a further year.
The club previously took up the option to add another year to Callum Slattery’s stay and confirmed Stephen O’Donnell had triggered an extra season.
Motherwell now have 21 players who are either out of contract or due to leave the club after loan periods in the summer while some of the 13 other first-team players could also be on the move.
When asked if he had ever experienced such a turnover, the former Austria Vienna manager said: “No, but to be honest, it’s also a good situation as a manager.
“So I’m now six weeks here. The pictures become clearer from each player, so I see who fits with us, who wants to work with us, who has a great work ethic, who wants to do this playing style and also who likes to play in the stadium in front of these great fans. So it’s easy.
“The players who are in the squad now, I can see every day, have an advantage. So we are now working to extend players.”

There are several players who have not featured under Wimmer whose deals are up, including club captain Paul McGinn. Wimmer promised to be fair to them.
“I have to make this picture and watch videos,” he said. “And also these players have played for the club and have made good performances for the club and give everything for this club.
“So they deserve it also that I get a clear picture and give them the chance to have many chats with them.
“Of course you have a disadvantage because you can’t play, but it’s up to me to give them also the feeling that they have no disadvantage.”
Wimmer confirmed that Liam Gordon would be unavailable for Saturday’s trip to Kilmarnock because of illness but Marvin Kaleta could return after missing six games through injury and a sickness bug.
