Tennis fans across the world saw Novak Djokovic claim victory at Wimbledon for the seventh time on Sunday, July 10 - his fourth in a row - this time against Nick Kyrgios. And it goes without saying that the 35-year-old Serbian sportsman is undeniably in great shape.
Alongside his training, it probably comes as no surprise that the diet which fuelled him in getting to where he is today - ranking as the men's number three in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals - consists of fresh, healthy and plant-based ingredients.
In a past interview with Graham Bensinger on his show In Depth with Graham Bensinger, the tennis great explains that he cut gluten, dairy, refined sugar and meat out of his diet in a bid to improve his health and save energy he needed on focus, recovery and training some years ago.

Speaking of what he would now eat in an average day to the American journalist, Novak starts off with this simple, but effective, detox drink.
"I start with warm water and lemon, so I can help my body detoxify. And then I would have celery juice on an empty stomach."
Swapping one's usual morning coffee for this citrusy concoction may help with aiding digestion, skin health, intake of vitamins and minerals and promotes hydration - according to Healthline. It's also refreshing - win win!
The tennis pro then went on to describe what food would come next for him.
"Then I would have my smoothie - a green smoothie with different algae and different fruits and superfoods, great supplements that I use that allow me to have mental clarity, feel good, longetivity, I guess, and different benefits on health.
"And I eat a lot of fruits for the first part of the day. Salads...I don't like to eat any food that would require much energy for digestion, especially in the first part of the day, because that's when I need the most energy for my training.
"So I'm keeping things quite light and I would have probably soda grains like quinoa, millet and wild rice. Sweet potato... normal potato... steamed or boiled."
