Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto has raved about Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk labelling the Dutchman as "incredible".
The 19-year-old Italian forward has proved to be a difficult attacker to defend against during his debut season at Elland Road and he made a late cameo for the Whites when they beat the Reds at Anfield earlier in the campaign.
Despite his tender age, he has made eight senior appearances for his national side and could feature against England in the upcoming 2024 European Championships qualifiers. During a media appearance for the Premier League's ePL uncut series, the former FC Zurich attacker has waxed lyrical over the Liverpool defender.

"I would probably say Van Dijk,” he said when picking his team to play on the video game FIFA, choosing between him and Manchester City defender, Ruben Dias.
"I haven’t played against Ruben Dias, so I can’t say [who is better in real life]. I’m lucky. But Van Dijk is incredible. He’s strong, he’s fast as well, good on the ball."
Gnonto isn't the first player to praise the Reds defender. Erling Haaland, who has taken the Premier League by storm in his debut season, has previously claimed that the Liverpool number four is his toughest opponent.
The Norwegian powerhouse made the admission prior to going head-to-head with the centre-back after his summer move to the Citizens. However, he has come up against the defender twice this season in the Community Shield and the Premier League with Jurgen Klopp's side coming out on top on both occasions.
Speaking in 2022, Haaland said via ESPN: "You know how tall he is, how strong he is and how fast he is, and also the timing is crazy.
"I don't think I won one duel against him because he's a physical monster."
