Country legend Willie Nelson and iconic Muppet Kermit the Frog delighted fans with their first joint performance of Kermit's 1979 hit 'Rainbow Connection' at Nelson's 2024 Luck Reunion festival in Texas. The heartwarming duet kicked off Nelson and Family's headlining set, where Kermit also joined in for a gospel medley.

Kermit's original rendition of 'Rainbow Connection' was a chart-topping success, and Nelson covered the song for his 2001 album 'Rainbow Connection,' earning a Grammy nomination. The duo's performance was a rare treat for fans, showcasing their musical chemistry.

Aside from this memorable collaboration, the Luck Reunion festival featured performances by Tyler Childers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Madi Diaz, and John Oates, offering a diverse musical lineup for attendees to enjoy.

In other news, Nelson announced his upcoming 75th studio album 'The Border,' set for release on May 31. The album features 10 tracks, including the title track, a cover of Rodney Cowell's song 'Texas.' Four tracks on the album were co-written by Nelson and Buddy Cannon, his longtime collaborator.

Furthermore, Nelson is gearing up for his annual Outlaw Music Festival Tour, starting this summer in Alpharetta, Georgia, and concluding in Buffalo, New York in September. The tour will feature a star-studded lineup, including Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Allison Krause, John Mellencamp, and other renowned artists.
