William and Kate share photo of Charlotte and Louis watching Euro 2024 final

The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a sweet photo of their two youngest children, Charlotte and Louis, posing in England shirts while they watched the Euro 2024 final on TV.

In a personal message to the England team after their loss against Spain on Sunday night, William and Kate said: “England, your teamwork, grit and determination were an inspiration to all of us, young and old. Congratulations to Spain. W & C”

It comes after William, who attended the match in Berlin alongside his eldest son Prince George, said “it just wasn’t meant to be” in a message on Sunday.

Spain claimed a 2-1 win while England fell at the last hurdle for a second European Championship final in succession.

The prince said on social media shortly after the defeat: “This time it just wasn’t meant to be. We’re all still so proud of you. Onwards. W”

William is president of the Football Association and a passionate Aston Villa fan, and has taken George to the club’s matches on multiple occasions this year, with the young prince often sporting the team’s scarf.

In April, they watched Aston Villa’s match against Lille in the Europa Conference League quarter-finals – their first public outing since Kate’s cancer diagnosis announcement.

At the end of June, George and Charlotte met Taylor Swift at her concert at Wembley Stadium. The two children joined William in smiling for a backstage selfie, with the US singer and her boyfriend Travis Kelce, to celebrate their father’s 42nd birthday.

Meanwihile Kate presented the Wimbledon men’s final trophy to Carlos Alcaraz in her second public engagement since announcing her cancer diagnosis.

Kate, patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, spoke to ball boys and girls after she entered Centre Court to loud applause on Sunday afternoon.

Before passing the trophy to Alcaraz, Kate commiserated and shook the hand of runner-up Novak Djokovic. Charlotte also attended the event with her mother.
